Sudoku Summer

Summer, Sun, Sudoku

Even in summer, many Sudoku fans do not want to miss out on their puzzle fun. That is not a problem at all, because you always have your smartphone with you to quickly solve an online Sudoku. But is it really that easy?

Disadvantages of online Sudoku in summer

As long as you are in or near a building, online Sudoku is of course a good choice. But as soon as you go outside, various problems can arise.

In particular, when traveling, there is often neither Wi-Fi nor a mobile network on the train or plane. That means you can pretty much forget about your smartphone. And if you go abroad, roaming can drive up costs.

Another problem is the temperature. If you use a smartphone at high temperatures, especially in direct sunlight, it quickly gets too warm and switches off.

A smartphone is also rather impractical on the beach, whether it’s a quarry pond or the South Seas. The fine sand is not good for electronic devices. And of course, if you’re on a beach, sooner or later you want to go into the water to cool off. But since all small electronic devices that can be sold quickly for several hundred euros on eBay or elsewhere are a favorite target of thieves, you can’t just leave them unattended on the beach. Sometimes it’s enough to close your eyes for half an hour to really relax and enjoy the weather, and the thief will strike. That’s why a smartphone is safer in the car or hotel safe.

When you’re on vacation, you can also take a vacation from social media/smartphone. After all, many a smartphone has an important notification every few minutes because someone somewhere has posted something and you “have to” react to it.

Printed Sudoku as an alternative

As an alternative to solving on a computer/smartphone, you can also print out Sudoku and then solve it with a pen on paper. This is especially practical outside the city. You don’t need electricity, the pencil doesn’t get hot, and you can just leave it lying around. There is hardly any risk of theft, and even if you do lose it, it’s not much. I think printed Sudoku should be on every travel or camping packing list. Whether you’re traveling or at your vacation destination, Sudoku puzzles on paper always offer quick access to relaxing puzzle fun.

And if you do forget to take Sudoku on paper with you, you can often find an opportunity to print some out. It’s easy to do: at a hotel, in an office or at a copy shop. All you need is internet and a printer. Both can be found almost anywhere these days.
